Against all odds: 21st JEONJU International Film Festival

This year’s Jeonju International Film Festival was the first important Asian film event to hold a part-live and part-virtual event in May (28 May – 6 June). It first attempted to hold the event during its regular dates in April before the spread of COVID-19 but it was not possible. Netpac jury chairman Jinna LEE, was onsite with an eye-witness account of how terrible the pressure was for organisers who faced the challenge of staging an essentially audience-centred event inspite of tight health precautions. This report is almost a primer for many festivals now faced with staging their own events under near-lockdown conditions. See this link for the complete report:
