Adilkhan Yerzhanov's Constructors To Carry NETPAC Logo 1

Adilkhan Yerzhanov's Constructors is the first feature film to bear the NETPAC logo, an endorsement that this is a film and a director that the Asian film network cares about.

Yerzhanov, a young director from Kazakhstan, made an impact with his feature, Realtors (2011), that traveled to nine festivals and picked up five awards.

In this new film, the story concerns two brothers and a little sister, who are orphans, after their parents have passed away. All they have is a parcel of land in the suburbs but they risk losing it in four months, when unused lands without any buildings, will be seized by the state. To prevent their young sister from being taken to the orphanage, they decide to build a house within four months. To feed themselves, they survive on scraps from nearby restaurants while at nights they forage at nearby building sites for leftover construction materials. As in ancient times, when nomadic tribes roamed the steppes of Kazakhstan before the Mongol hordes captured their territory,Constructors is a modern parable of homelessness, of history and the will of the weak against the might of the conquerors.

Born in Djezkazgan city, Kazakhstan, on 7th August 1982, he completed Kazakhstan National Academy of Arts in 2009 in film directing. Awarded by Kazakhfilm studio to study in New York film school in 2010. In 1999, he won JSC "Khabar" competition for Best Script with the first Kazakhstan animated series, "Kozy-Korpesh and Bayan-Sulu", which was broadcast nationwide in 2002.

His other award-winning films include the feature, Karatas (2009), and shorts, Disc Seller (2009), Brothers Shorty (2008), Self-portrait (2007) and Bakhytzhamal (2007).
